Woodlake Public Cemetery is comprised of rolling hills and flat ground, located on the western edge of the City of Woodlake. Dating back to the mid-1800s, the cemetery is a mix of historic and modern-day graves, with a granite Columbarium in the center of the South Section, offering a number of options for family’s finding themselves in the midst of the hardest days of their lives or for those planning for future burial needs.
Woodlake Public Cemetery offers:
- In-Ground Full-Body Burials
- In-Ground Cremation Burials
- Columbarium Burials – Columbarium Niches each hold up to two cremation urns
- Headstone Installation
Burial Pricing
Burial costs range in cost, depending on whether the person lived in the district, out of the district or out of state when they passed away. Prices also vary if the person had already purchased a plot. However, cost ranges are noted below:
- In-Ground Full-Body Burials – Ranges from $4,128 to $5,156

- Columbarium Burials – $2,250 to $2,650
- Saturday Service Fee – $800 (full casket) or $400 (cremation)
Non-resident fees are additional charges applied when applicable, and are not included in the price ranges.
Forms of Payment: We accept cash, check, cashier’s check, money order or credit card (credit fee processing applies). Payment must be paid in full at least two business days before burial. We do not offer payment plans.
Pre-Need Plots
To prepare for future burials, individuals and/or families can purchase plots ahead of time. The plot fee and endowment fee are paid together to secure the plot(s), while the Opening/Closing and vault fees are paid at the time of grave use. Pre-purchasing grave plots is a cost-effective way to alleviate the financial burden at the time of a person’s passing, and the cost of the grave and endowment as a pre-need secures the grave at the current price, rather than in the future when prices may be affected by the economy. To discuss pre-need purchases, contact the Cemetery Office at 559-564-2571 or email manager@woodlakecemetery.com to schedule an appointment or talk about the many options we have available.
While we do not offer payment plans, we do have a Grave Hold Policy for individuals and families to put plots on hold for up to six months.
Forms of Payment: We accept cash, check, cashier’s check, money order or credit card (credit fee processing applies).
Headstones
Headstones can be ordered from any of the local headstone makers in the area. The local companies are familiar with our headstone specifications and requirements. Once the headstones have been ordered and/or delivered to the Woodlake Public Cemetery, a headstone installation fee is required to be paid in full to the Cemetery, and Cemetery staff will install the headstone.
We have noted some answers to frequently asked questions regarding headstones:
- For single plots, headstone sizes can be 12″ x 24″ or 14″ x 30″.
- For side-by-side plots, headstone sizes can be 16″ x 36″ or 16″ x 48″.
- Headstone installation fees are based on size of the headstone. If vases are included, an additional fee is charged for the expansion.
- Please contact the Cemetery Office for installation fees and to make arrangements for payment.
- In the South Section of the cemetery, no upright headstones are allowed.
- In the historic section of the cemetery (middle, older sections), upright headstones must be pre-approved by the District Manager.
- Upright headstones are only allowed in specific rows of the North Section. Plot fees in upright rows are sold at a higher price than those in flat headstone rows.
- For more details on headstone sizes and requirements by section, please view our Headstone/Grave Marker Policy.
Forms of Payment: We accept cash, check, cashier’s check, money order or credit card (credit fee processing applies). We do not offer payment plans.
